A Personalised Approach to Piano Tuition

Thank you for your interest in piano lessons! Whether you’re an absolute beginner, returning to the piano after a break, or looking to build on your current skills, I’m here to support you on your musical journey. With a focus on creativity, confidence, and steady progress, I aim to make piano lessons enjoyable, encouraging, and suited to your individual goals.
My Teaching Philosophy
I believe that music education flourishes when it’s rooted in both structure and playfulness. My teaching balances foundational technique with the freedom to explore music you genuinely enjoy. I’m here not only to teach you how to play the piano, but also how to enjoy the process.
Every Student is Unique
No two learners are the same, which is why I take a flexible, student-based approach to teaching as opposed to sticking to a strict curriculum. Whether you or your child is keen to read music, play by ear, explore improvisation, progress through the grades or simply learn a favourite song, lessons are designed around your pace and preferences.
Core Pillars of My Approach
Repertoire That Motivates
From classical and contemporary to pop and film music, we’ll work together to build a repertoire that keeps you engaged. Even at the early stages, I aim to introduce pieces that feel rewarding to play and reflect your musical tastes.
Building Strong Foundations
We’ll cover essential elements like posture, scales, arpeggios, hand position, note-reading, rhythm, and technique- we’ll work on making sure foundations are strong so that you have a strong basis for future repetoire. For more experienced players, we’ll go deeper into dynamics, pedal use, expression, and stylistic awareness.
Practice That Works
I understand that life can get busy. That’s why I focus on teaching how to practice effectively, not just what to practice. Together, we can find routines that fit your schedule and build progress week by week—with room for fun and exploration along the way.
Performance With Confidence
Whether it’s playing a short piece for family or preparing for a school concert or exam, I aim to help students feel relaxed, confident, and expressive at the piano. Performance doesn’t need to be scary—it can be a joyful part of learning and sharing music.
